Why MCProTU
MCProTU provides “The Professional Student”: culturally-sensitive career development curriculum that is based on “Trait & Factor” Theory, particularly on the Vocational Choice Theory, of John Holland.
Through "The Professional Student", Black and Hispanic learners are encouraged to explore their personality and then explore the best career matches, by participating in various ELOs (experiential learning opportunities).
Students are part of an identifiable society within “The Professional Student”: they achieve individual accolades, and celebrate their community and their culture. We extend the borders of personal success to include extended family and friends. By partnering with Arts in Education Continuum, MCProTU also supports mentoring at different levels.

Hispanic Facts
Succeeding but challenged
Hispanics - the largest - and growing - minority group in the US, Hispanics are 18% of the US population: Hispanic Serving School Districts (HSSDs) alone serve 10 million Hispanic youth. Also, more Hispanics are becoming white collar professionals.
Nonetheless, Hispanics need to attain academically and professionally at much higher proportion if they are to contribute positively to society in the future. MCProTU was created to bring awareness of federal and private opportunities that most students or families are unaware of; We do this through culturally sensitive communication.
As Black Americans lead the way to a more equitable US, Hispanics are now in the privileged position to receive the baton on behalf of all: when one group triumphs, we all triumph. MCProTU's programming welcomes learners from all cultural backgrounds.
